THE GOLD CUP
BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 3rd MAY, 2025
At Ashwood Equestrian, Stafford Road, Knightley. ST20 0JR
FOR HORSES AND PONIES – OPEN TO ALL
THE GOLD CUP is a 3-phase event from 50cms to 90cms WHERE NO-ONE GETS ELIMINATED! *Emphasis is placed on jumping ability rather than dressage scores*
Competitors must compete in all 3 phases
Phase 1 – Dressage. A British Eventing Test will be used & confirmed shortly.
Phase 2 – XC. The Course will consist of a compact XC making use of the grass XC field and will include a timed section. The time taken thru the timed section will be added to your penalty score, therefore a faster time will incur less penalties! 4 refusals or not completing Phase 2 will incur 150 penalties.
Phase 3 – Show Jumping. Competitors will jump in reverse order using penalties incurred from Phases 1 & 2. Judged on one round with a time allowed. Penalties will be incurred for exceeding this time. There will be an alternative final joker fence, attempt it and jump clear to deduct 10 penalties from your score but knock it down or refuse and you will add 20 penalties! 3 refusals or not completing Phase 3 will incur 100 penalties.
Penalties incurred in all 3 phases will be added together with the winner being the one with the lowest score (least number of penalties)
In the event of a tie, the fastest thru the timed section in Phase 2 will determine the winner, if there is still a tie the fastest show jumping time will determine the winner.
