FOR HORSES AND PONIES – OPEN TO ALL

BEGINNER MINI NOVICE HUNTER TRIALS is a cross country event with fences from 40cms to 80cms. The event is aimed at the beginner, nervous, novice horse or rider and consists of a shortened XC course on grass that takes place all in one field, with the course being stringed for additional help & security. It will include plain fixed fences with no combinations, and a simple walk through water splash. Assistance is allowed in all classes & must be entered in the spirit in which it is intended. For more experienced combinations we request you enter the Gold Cup on Bank Holiday Monday May 5th. You may go round with another horse if preferred just make a note on the entry form. The XC phase will be timed with an undisclosed Optimum Time. Penalties will be given for jumping faults and time faults. The horse & rider with the least accumulated penalties will be the winner!

The decision to run will be made according to the number of entries received by 27th April. 

ENTRIES Pre-Entries close Sunday 27th April. Times released Wednesday 30th April. On-line entries ashwoodequestrian.com Discount for Ashwood Members. Horses & riders may enter more than 1 class. 

NOTE: We must receive enough entries by 27th April to justify the cost of constructing the XC course. If entries are too low by this date, the event will be cancelled—we will not wait for late entries to make this decision.

PRIZES Awards to 10th place in all classes.
GENERAL INFORMATION
COURSE WALK  The XC course will be available for walking on the morning of the event and at any time during the day with due regard to any horses on course
WITHDRAWALS, REFUNDS & SUBSTITUTIONS Withdrawals before 20th April will receive 100% refund. Withdrawals for any reason between 20th April and 26th April will be refunded less £5. No withdrawals for any reason after 26th April. Substitution of horse or rider is possible. Changing both horse & rider in the same entry qualifies as a whole new entry & must be paid in full.
DRESS CODE XC Attire to be worn. Clean & Tidy please. Any colour jods/tops/jackets. Correctly fitting Hard hats (NO FIXED PEAKS) & Body Protectors conforming to the current British Standard must be worn at all times when mounted, with proper riding boots (no yard boots). Horses & ponies do not need to be plaited. NO SCHOOLING WHIPS AT ANY TIME. Number bib (print your own number) or bridle numbers to be worn.
CROSS COUNTRY The XC phase will be a shortened course and will take place on grass, with the entire course being visible & contained. Solid, fixed fences and water will be included. All tracks are aimed at first timers & novice/nervous with no combinations. 
CATERING Hot and cold food (& often ice cream!) will be available throughout the event

TERMS & CONDITIONS Save for death or injury by the negligence of the organiser or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, Ashwood Equestrian Ltd, for themselves, their servants, agents, employees and all those connected with the event do not accept liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury, illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, vehicles, their contents and accessories or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or statutory duty in any way whatsoever of themselves, their servants, agents, employees and all those connected with the event or otherwise. It shall be considered a condition of entry that each entrant agrees to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising thereto. The organiser does not insure the rider, your horse or your tack and equipment. You are strongly advised to have in place your own adequate personal accident insurance at all times.

The decision of the Judges is final. If any person wishes to lodge a complaint, this must be done so in writing within 30 minutes of the incident along with a deposit of £50 (which will be returned if the complaint is upheld). 

The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry and to remove anyone from the venue at any time without giving a reason, amend the details of the schedule should it become necessary, or to cancel any class with insufficient entries. Once a class has been entered, refunds will not be given.

GENERAL RULES

  1. All classes are open to juniors or seniors riding horses or ponies.
  2. Horses/Ponies must be 4 years old or older.
  3. Any horse/pony considered to be unsound, unfit or unhealthy by a Judge or the Organiser will be excluded from the competition without refund of entry.
  4. No horseboxes to be mucked out on site.
  5. It is compulsory that every person at the venue who is under the age of 18 years of age is accompanied by a responsible adult.
  6. No dogs will be allowed in or around any of the arenas or on the cross country course, they must stay in the lorry park or preferably remain at home. Please clean up after you dogs AND TAKE YOUR POO BAGS HOME.
  7. The event may be cancelled without notice due to adverse weather. In the event of adverse weather it is recommended that you check the website www.ashwoodequestrian.com for any announcements. In the unlikely event of abandonment, entries may be carried over to a future event or refunded minus £5 admin fee.
