SCHEDULE AND COMPETITOR INFORMATION
The EVENTER CHALLENGE SERIES 2024 takes place over 3 shows October 27th, December 1st and December 29th 2024, with riders gaining points based on their placings. The combination with the highest total points at the end of the series will be crowned the overall winner. To be eligible for series placings, horse-and-rider combinations must compete in at least two of the three shows. Riders may enter multiple classes at each show to increase their points tally. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall points winners.
EVENTER CHALLENGE is a 2-phase event (SJ & XC) from 60cms to 90cms. The competition will consist of Phase I – a course of Show Jumps, and Phase II – Arena XC. Both Phases will take place on an all weather surface. You will ride in XC attire, and after completing Phase I continue straight on to Phase II. The XC phase will include solid fences & water. Only the XC phase will be timed with an undisclosed Optimum Time. Penalties will be given for jumping faults and time faults. The horse & rider with the least accumulated penalties will be the winner.

WITHDRAWALS, REFUNDS, UNPAID ENTRIES & SUBSTITUTIONS | ALL PRE-ENTRIES PAID BEFORE CLOSING DATE WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR 100% REFUND OR TRANSFER WHAT EVER THE REASON up to closing date of entries. .
No withdrawals on the day of the show. UNPAID/ON HOLD ENTRIES WILL DELETED and you will need to re-enter on the day at LATE ENTRY FEE Substituting either a horse or rider may be possible. Changing both horse & rider in the same entry qualifies as a whole new entry & must be paid in full. |

COURSE WALK | The course will be available for walking at the start of each class. | ||
ELIMINATIONS | Competitors incurring 3 refusals will be eliminated. You may be allowed to continue at the judges discretion.
Fall of horse or rider will incur immediate elimination and you will not be allowed to continue. You will be required to see the on-site medic. |

DRESS CODE | XC Attire to be worn. Clean & Tidy please. Any colour jods/tops/jackets. Correctly fitting Hard hats (NO FIXED PEAKS) & Body Protectors conforming to the current British Standard must be worn at all times when mounted, with proper riding boots (no yard boots). Horses & ponies do not need to be plaited. NO SCHOOLING WHIPS AT ANY TIME. Number bibs to be worn.
Competitors are to declare at the Secretary to pick up their number before entering the warm up arena. |

QUALIFICATIONS | |||
ELAND LODGE | This show is a qualifier for Eland Lodge National Arena Eventing Championships 8th/9th March 2025 (60-90cms). The Top 3 in all classes will qualify. This qualification applies to the combination of horse and rider. Either horse or rider may not be substituted under any circumstances. You must compete at the finals in the height class you qualified at. Qualifications are not transferable between height classes. | ||
NATIONAL PONY SOCIETY | This show is a qualifier for the NPS/ ANTHONY EVANS ARENA EVENTING CHALLENGE FINAL. The final to be held at Aston Le Walls, September 2025. The final is open to mares, geldings and stallions four year old and over, maximum height of 158cm and in possession of an equine passport but no specific registration or breed society criteria.
Qualification will be gained by achieving a top 10 placing, with a qualification card to be handed out. Qualification will be confirmed by the NPS Office. Any qualification gained in the 60/ 70cm or 80/ 90cm will jump the higher limit in the final. No membership needed to qualify, but owner must become NPS member compete in the final (Life, Qualifying or Performance member). |
TERMS & CONDITIONS Save for death or injury by the negligence of the organiser or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, Ashwood Equestrian Ltd, for themselves, their servants, agents, employees and all those connected with the event do not accept liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury, illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, vehicles, their contents and accessories or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or statutory duty in any way whatsoever of themselves, their servants, agents, employees and all those connected with the event or otherwise. It shall be considered a condition of entry that each entrant agrees to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising thereto. The organiser does not insure the rider, your horse or your tack and equipment. You are strongly advised to have in place your own adequate personal accident insurance at all times.
The decision of the Judges is final. If any person wishes to lodge a complaint, this must be done so in writing within 30 minutes of the incident along with a deposit of £50 (which will be returned if the complaint is upheld).
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry and to remove anyone from the venue at any time without giving a reason, amend the details of the schedule should it become necessary, or to cancel any class with insufficient entries. Once a class has been entered, refunds will not be given.
GENERAL RULES
- All classes are open to juniors or seniors riding horses or ponies.
- Horses/Ponies must be 4 years old or older.
- Any horse/pony considered to be unsound, unfit or unhealthy by a Judge or the Organiser will be excluded from the competition without refund of entry.
- No horseboxes to be mucked out on site.
- It is compulsory that every person at the venue who is under the age of 18 years of age is accompanied by a responsible adult.
- No dogs will be allowed in or around any of the arenas or on the cross country course, they must stay in the lorry park or preferably remain at home. Please clean up after you dogs AND TAKE YOUR POO BAGS HOME.
- The event may be cancelled without notice due to adverse weather. In the event of adverse weather it is recommended that you check the website www.ashwoodequestrian.com for any announcements. In the unlikely event of abandonment, entries may be carried over to a future event or refunded minus £5 admin fee.
